CLEVELAND, Tenn. (Aug. 19, 2008)—Arch Chemicals Inc., a global leader in providing innovative, chemistry-based solutions to control the growth of harmful microbes, recently presented a check for $850 to the Tennessee Scholars program. The local industry, which produces HTH water products at its Charleston facility, strives to be a responsible neighbor and to contribute to the social and economic prosperity of the community. Tennessee Scholars is a rewards-and-recognition program for high school students who complete a rigorous curriculum and reach a high level of skill in several areas so they are ready for the labor market or higher education. The program is one of several workforce development initiatives administered by the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce. Janice Baker (right), Arch’s human resource director, presented the check to Sherry Crye, director of workforce development for the Chamber of Commerce.
